Dara MacLean is quickly becoming one of my favorite artist so you can imagine how excited I was to find out she was coming to Tampa. She performed as part Winter Jam tonight, along with 11 other artists and speakers. Even though her first set left me feeling so disappointed and underwhelmed, her one-song acoustic performance later in the evening reminded me why I’ve listened to her CD at least once a day for weeks and weeks. I was already in a pretty emotionally charged state, so by the time she got to the chorus, all 17,000 people in the room with us had faded away, and I was in that special place that music takes me.
My special place is where I have the most meaningful moments with God, where nothing else matters, where I find a peace that I imagine can only be found in the presence of my Lord. As Dara finished up the song, I opened my eyes and found that I had been crying. A LOT. I think it was just that I was so filled with the Holy Spirit that it was leaking from my eyes.
